The Musée Alsacien of Strasbourg

The Alsatian Museum is a museum of art and folk tradition, offering a charming tour of Strasbourg’s old houses linked together via staircases and wooden passageways. Roughly a thousand objects are on exhibit, attesting to rural Alsatian life from the 18th - 19th centuries including costumes, furnishings, earthenware, toys, religious and secular images, etc. Reconstructed interiors characteristic of Alsace’s various “regions” and craftsmen’s workshops are displayed throughout the museum and will be commented in the book.
