Shared Passions In the Heart of the Collections

Illustration de Shared Passions In the Heart of the Collections

« Shared Passions, in the Heart of the Collections » is a multiple event, to be launched on the forthcoming European Museums Night on 21 May 2016, and continuing until spring 2017.

Drawing on the collections of the Museums of the City of Strasbourg, both private and public, ten multidisciplinary exhibitions will be held during the year. They focus alternately on recent acquisitions and donations, rare or fragile aspects of public collections, exemplary restorations of works and objects and contemporary echoes of historical works. The passion and commitment of private collectors and their decisive role in the establishment of a shared heritage are also being celebrated.

Members of the public will be invited to "collect" their chosen works and especially to share their personal choices, while museum teams will reveal their missions and roles in establishing and transmitting our artistic heritage.

Numerous events will be organized throughout the season to allow everyone to exchange views on the museum collections. Children and pupils, families and neighbours, regular or occasional visitors or members of the museum teams will be invited to take part in special moments and share their personal choices.

The first episode of this season begins on May 21, 2016, with three exhibitions:
